Product description
What the device does
CLX is a focused aesthetic platform for the submental area. Patients rest comfortably while the device operates, without needles, incisions, anaesthesia or therapeutic heating. Erchonia describes the protocol as eight 15-minute, non-contact sessions delivered over four weeks.
The hands-free approach offers a streamlined service for aesthetic practices, facial aesthetics and body-contouring clinics. There are no applicator cards, gels, syringes or consumable kits to restock for each session.
Unlike a full-body circumference-reduction platform, CLX is focused on improving the appearance of the under-chin area. Suitability and treatment planning should be assessed by a medical professional.

Mechanism
How it works
CLX delivers specific green and violet wavelengths through a non-contact, non-thermal approach. Erchonia describes the technology in terms of the energy carried by each photon and the biological response to an appropriate light dose, rather than wattage and heat.
In the clinical study, the mechanism is described as stimulating adipocytes to release stored lipid content without destroying the cells. Released lipids are processed naturally by the body, with the appearance of the submental area changing over the treatment course.
Patients rest during each 15-minute session and can return to their day without procedural downtime. Individual results vary.

Clinical evidence
Eight sessions. Blinded review.
Erchonia reports a prospective, dual-centre study in adults with measurable submental fat. Participants received eight 15-minute treatments over four weeks. Three independent, board-certified cosmetic surgeons assessed photographs in a blinded review.
- 86.7%
- Blinded-review success on an intent-to-treat basis — and 95.8% correct identification of the post-treatment photograph at the 12-week follow-up.
- 5.45 mm
- Mean reduction in submental skinfold thickness, with BMI stable — the change is under the chin, not on the scale.
- 92%
- Patient satisfaction at 12 weeks, with zero device-related adverse events.
Intent-to-treat: 86.7%; per-protocol at 12 weeks: 95.8%. Erchonia CLX dual-centre clinical study.
